Recent Dartmouth College (Hanover, New Hampshire, USA) graduate, B.A. with honors in Studio Art. Recently moved to Munich and seeking to join an art community. My goal: to take over the world with my art. Official Artist Statement: How does one cope with the many disheartening crises pummeling today's society? There are serious climate problems, challenges of extreme poverty and epidemic disease. There are dramatic social inequities and human rights violations around the world. Like many others, I turn to popular culture for a distraction from these issues. Our world has become a "dual-universe" in which one minute we are watching Arab-Spring revolutions and the next minute we are lost in glossy, celebrity-tabloid magazines. I explore this schizophrenic reality through my work by blending social issues with pop culture. I am influenced by everything from art history to horror films, by everyone from the rich and famous to the homeless I meet. It would be criminal not to recognize the two most profound influences on my art, Andy Warhol and Banksy, whom I often turn to for inspiration.
